Poppy Cleall is a formidable Saracens player who began her rugby journey aged six. She played for Bristol across two spells (2010–2012 and 2016–17) before joining Saracens for the 2017–18 season.
Her England debut came in the 2016 Six Nations, and she played every match of the victorious 2017 Grand Slam campaign before a late call-up to the 2017 Rugby World Cup squad. Hugely versatile, Poppy has played flanker, No. 8 and second row, and started all five games of the 2018 Six Nations. She scored a hat-trick in England’s 66–7 win over Wales in the 2020 Six Nations and was part of the Red Roses squad that reached the final of the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup. She secured a professional contract in 2019 and lines up alongside her twin sister, Bryony.
